Reflecting various fabrication design elements, such as air power, structure, propulsion, control systems and solar power systems, Specially solar powered unmanned aerial vehicles are making efforts to improve long-term air time and flight efficiency through the lightweighting of low-power, high-efficiency energy storage systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and payloads in order to increase the power of the limited batteries. Generally, in the case of a solar unmanned aerial vehicle, it is equipped with a wing having a large aspect ratio so as to be lightweight for a long-term gliding and long-range enduarance. In this study, the buckling and structural problems of the wing front skin caused by torsion at the wing and wing connections during a test flight of a solar unmanned aerial vehicle, the rib spacing of wings has been identified as a very important factor to reduce impact and for long duration of flight and aircraft safety and wing-specific lift and to optimize its efficiency. Prior to sample production and structural testing, the finite element analysis analyzed the effects of aircraft wing ribs on the buckling of the wing front skin, and the structural analysis was performed using the ANSYS program to derive the optimal rib clearance for solar unmanned aircraft. |
