논문내용 Korean government tried to prevent suicide death with a variety of intervention such as enactment of Act for the Prevention of Suicide and the Creation of Culture of Respect for Life in 2011, which is to protect people's invaluable life and create a culture of respect for life by providing necessary suicide preventive policies at a national level. In addition, the function of community mental health welfare center has been expanded over decade. Suicide prevention program plays a critical role in community mental health. Mental health professionals including mental health nurses and mental health social workers work at the forefront in the prevention of client suicidal attempt. The purpose of this study is to analyze the job duties and tasks of mental health professionals in suicide prevention program. This study follows a protocol of DACUM method, which is a process that incorporates the use of a selected expert group to capture the major duties and related tasks included in an occupation. DACUM committee consisted of 12 field experts with at least 8 years of experience in suicide prevention was held in order to extract the core job duties and tasks performed by the suicide prevention workers. After the in-depth literature review and the DACUM committee, the survey was conducted with 116 suicide prevention program workers. Collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics to demonstrate the difference of frequency, importance and difficulty in the job duties and tasks. As the result, 8 core duties, 27 tasks and 63 sub-tasks were extracted. Based on the analysis, several implications were discussed to improve the job competence of suicide prevention workers such as provision of training program, advancement of curriculum in licensure, and follow-up research considering organizational differences between provincial and local community mental health welfare center.
