논문내용 From traditional literature and clinical studies, it is known that Ukgansan is effective in treating various neuropsychiatric diseases. Ukgansan consists of seven medicinal materials: Atractylodis Rhizoma Alba, Cnidii Rhizoma, Angelicae Gigantis Radix, Bupleuri Radix, Uncariae Ramulus cum Uncus, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Poria Sclerotium. Each medicinal materials contains various chemical compounds. It is difficult to reveal molecular biological mechanisms of herbal medicine because in herbal medicine various ingredient acts on several target proteins. We explored the relationship between Ukgansan and various neuropsychiatric diseases by constructing a network connecting the medicinal materials, chemical compounds, and target proteins. Information on the chemical compounds of the each medicinals was taken from the TM-MC database, and the relationship between the compounds and the target protein was taken from the STITCH database. These records were combined to make a list of target proteins for Ukgansan. DAVID's GAD disease gene set was used to find a link with neuropsychiatric diseases. As we screen reliable chemical-protein interactions using STITCH confidence score, the rank of neuropsychiatric diseases increases. We also studied the effects of chemical compounds on neuropsychiatric diseases and relation between the target protein and ADHD. Our approach can also be extended to explore the association with diseases and the other herbal medicines.
