As the use of smartphones becomes essential today, applications are also essential materials for smartphones. This fact applies around the world and is fast in both daily and travel, and many seek convenience and speed. Grab wants to stay one step ahead of customers’ demands. Beyond simple car-call services, we are trying to integrate into the lives of customers various nationalities. In addition, development and use of travel-related Apps have increased internationally, while the needs of consumers are personalized and segmented by small business through application today. In response, mobile communication as well as services through Apps are expanding. Among them, GRAB, a car call service app in the southeast Asian market, has been monopolizing and steadily developing the Southeast Asian market along with UBER. Although there are so many competitive Apps, it deals whit Grab’s competitive app service, functions and elements, and steadily increasing exchanges and opportunities at home and abroad. It presents examples of market competition and conflicts that arise in this context. In addition, although the platform market is competing, it also co-exists for customer satisfaction, not just profit-seeking. At this time, both shake-holders need to readjust their policies to support strengthening customer capabilities and market reliability. As such, it presents what role Grab can play in the era of shared economy through platforms. |
