논문내용 This paper presents a virtual reality-based training system which helps users to learn and skill up machining centers in a virtual environment. Learners watch and experience virtual objects through a monitor or head-mounted display(HMD) in the proposed system. This proposed system allows learners to study the content themselves in a safe learning environment. Moreover, the learners operate the mouse or the virtual reality controller on his own and perform repetitive training freely. Evaluation test was conducted with 10 users who have experience in machining centers to investigate users’ satisfaction of the proposed system. In the evaluation test, we prepared questionnaire having five domains(executing and manipulating content, using an assistive tool for training, operating user interface, handling learning content, and interacting with practice scene). As a results, the proposed system received a relatively high score, in particular, the first domain (executing and manipulating content) received perfect score. On the other hand, the scores for fourth and fifth domains were relatively lower than others. Accordingly, more detailed consideration and support were needed from the perspective of learning activities. In future study, it is necessary to conduct experiments with more participants by reorganizing questions in detail and setting educational effectiveness as a major variable. Through this study, it will be possible to expand the possibility of using VR content as a learning medium.
