The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between anxiety, psychological stress, and infection prevention practice according to COVID-19 of pre-dental hygienists. Self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted from March 2 to 31, 2021 for dental hygiene students in Daejeon and Chungcheong provinces. The data were analyzed using SPSS WIN(ver 19.0) program, and t-test, chi-square test, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were conducted. The satisfaction level of school, major, and practice was low in the level of anxiety in the high group, and the health group was high in the psychological stress, and the prevention knowledge of the COVID-19 and the prevention practice of the COVID-19 were high. The anxiety and psychological stress by satisfaction(school, major, and practice) were all negatively correlated, and the knowledge and practice of prevention of COVID-19 by satisfaction(school, major, practice) were all positively correlated. Factors affecting preventive practice were trait anxiety, state anxiety, psychological stress, and COVID-19 preventive knowledge, and explanation power was 47.9%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and provide an education program for infection control of emotional-centered coping that can provide systematic education on public health related to infectious diseases and understanding of the current status of infectious diseases to pre-dental hygienists and the role of psychological support providers in oral health field. |
