The fuzzy theory is widely used to deal with ambiguity in various research areas. More over, various types of fuzzy sets-intuitionistic fuzzy sets, neutrosophic sets, Pythagorian fuzzy sets, orthopair fuzzy sets, polygonal type-1 fuzzy sets-have been proposed and used for the several research areas. The fuzzy sets represent the degree of membership as a real number between [0, 1], and the intuitive fuzzy sets expresses the degree of membership as an interval between [0, 1]. Neutrosophic sets are extended to describe the indeterminacy. The Pythagorean fuzzy sets provide a solution when the degree of membership exceeds 1, and the orthopair fuzzy sets are generalized the Pythagorean fuzzy sets. The polygonal type-1 fuzzy sets can represent various shapes of the fuzzy sets. In this paper, we propose a method for calculating the reliability of the systems using the type-1 fuzzy sets expressed in polygonal form. Unlike other fuzzy sets, the polygon type-1 fuzzy set can express the fuzzy set in the shape of various polygons. For this reason, although it has a somewhat more complex shape than other fuzzy sets, it is possible to handle fuzzy sets with more diverse shapes than the conventional fuzzy sets. Therefore, it becomes possible to describe and calculate the reliability of the systems in a more flexible research area than the others that expresses the reliability of the systems using the conventional fuzzy sets. |
