With the development of e-commerce, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find bills and coins in modern people's wallets. Various virtual currencies are emerging and in the spotlight, and amid the rapid growth of the fintech industry and e-commerce market, the development of central bank CBDC is rapidly underway around the world. South Korea also announced that the Bank of Korea will complete consulting on the central bank's digital currency (CBDC) system and start building and testing the CBDC system from the second half of 2021. As such, the development of CBDC is being activated in major countries around the world, and the definition and significance of CBDC are examined through its differences from virtual currency. And based on the concept of currency used today, if CBDC is introduced as currency in the future, it compares and analyzes what the Republic of Korea should consider through the development status of major countries around the world, China, the United States, and the EU, and presents the right direction for the future. Currently, the Korea Customs Service, which is in charge of customs clearance and customs affairs, has a convenient and systematic system that is highly praised around the world, and if CBDC is introduced, the Korea Customs Service will present the next-generation future customs policy. |
