The aim of this study was to compare the self-esteem and the personality traits according to the sociodemographic characteristics of work, and to investigate the factors affecting the self-esteem. The questionnaire was produced through the questionnaire based on the social network service and distributed online to works through the non-probabilistic sampling method. The researcher received 139 responses and analyzed 126 cases except for incomplete responses(13 cases). Repeated measures ANOVA was used to examine the differences in the personality traits. The personality traits and self-esteem according to age, gender, and academic background were analyzed by an independent t test. Pearson correlation analysis was performed to examine the correlation between age, personality traits, and self-esteem. Stepwise multi-regression analysis was used to identify factors affecting self-esteem. In results, 20s was significantly higher in the agreeableness and the self-esteem than 30s(p<.05). The men were significantly higher in the conscientiousness than the women(p<.05). The college had significantly lower the self-esteem than university(p<.05). Factors affecting the self-esteem were identified as the extraversion, the conscientiousness, the neuroticism, and age(R2=.353). These findings have demonstrated that the personality traits can affect the self-esteem and can be used as a basis for the development of the psychological counseling programs for workers. |
