In this paper, the development and direction of the Personal Clearance Custom Code in the E-commerce era were studied by comparing the current status and the role of e-commerce in Europe Union and Japan. After the Korea Customs Service's customs clearance system began to be commercialized in 2015, it has become mandatory to enter personal customs clearance numbers, which have been an option for overseas direct purchase since June 2019. As a Korean citizen and consumer, living in a leading e-commerce country, presents the preparation of e-commerce high-tech future era by giving a new role in the existing concept of Korea’s Personal Clearance Custom Code. For instance, Using the Personal Clearance Custom Code, it makes possible to act as an ‘I.D Card (identification card)’ or as a payment method for future generations (Debit card). As e-commerce is developing day by day, there are many problems that we need to consider. South Korea, which sets an example for other countries in terms of tariffs, emphasizes that it is very important to prevent problems or crimes that may arise in e-commerce in advance according to its status. In particular, the government should set guidelines for personal information security and overseas direct purchase so that people can trade more safely. |
