In this study, an indoor smart plant cultivation system was designed and its performance was verified to respond to the rapid agricultural supply and demand problem caused by urbanization and population growth. The proposed system is mainly composed of an indoor plant grower, a cloud platform, and a web/app system as the user interface. The cloud platform stores and manages cultivation recipes for 30 kinds of crops, and utilizes them to deliver the optimal growing environment of the crops to the indoor planters. We also designed a middleware for remote control and a mobile web/app to monitor the cultivation situation in real time, and a user interface to control it as needed. The performance verification conducted in this study includes several items, including the transmission accuracy of sensor data, the transmission accuracy of driver data, and the transmission accuracy of remote control settings, and through these tests, we confirmed that the accuracy of the entire system is over 95%. The results of this study can be used as a basis for sustainable crop production technology in cities, and we plan to contribute to the development of smart agriculture in Korea by conducting research on more efficient cultivation methods by incorporating artificial intelligence technology in the future. |
