The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of chin-tuck angle measurement using the Chin-tuck Assist System (CAS). Thirty healthy adult men and women participated in this study. All subjects' experiments were conducted in the same place. The subject's posture was upright posture and chin-tuck posture, and the difference in chin-tuck angle according to the two postures was measured. To examine this difference, Image J software and the CAS were used. Two evaluators measured the head position angle using the Image J and the CAS. The subjects and the camera were placed at a distance of 1.5 cm from the fixed pedestal. The measurements were performed three times each. Through this value, intra-meter reliability and inter-meter reliability were confirmed. In the intra-rater reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.992-0.993 (95% confidence interval, 0.985-0.996) for the CAS and 0.976-0.989 (95% confidence interval, 0.956-0.995) for the Image J. In the inter-rater reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.862 (95% confidence interval 0.710-0.934) for the CAS and 0.832 (95% confidence interval 0.647-0.920) for the Image J. The Pearson's correlation coefficient of the CAS and the Image J was 0.993 (p<.001). These findings that we suggest the CAS can be considered as a tool for measuring chin-tuck angle and correcting chin tuck. |
